For nearly 30 years, Dr. Abbe Kellner-Kutno has dreamed of moving to Israel. She grew up in a Zionist home, influenced by her parents and grandparents with reinforcement from her active involvement with Young Judaea. With each visit to Israel, came the yearning to make her visits permanent. Two years ago, she and her husband decided that the time was right to make their dreams a reality.
Dr. Kellner-Kutno ran a successful private practice in New York since 1995, when she joined her father. Her patients came to her from near and far. Highly skilled in restorative and implant dentistry, Dr. Kellner-Kutno treats patients of all ages. “One of the things I will miss most of all from my New York practice is the relationship I built over the years with multiple generations within a family. I hope to be able to do the same here.”
In 2010, Dr. Kellner-Kutno became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a prestigious recognition from an association that prides itself on continuing education. Her talents were also regularly recognized by the local community, where she was acknowledged as a top dentist by her peers.
As Dr. Kellner-Kutno was planning her aliyah, she was introduced to Dr. Dena Naeh and Dr. Anna Jotkowitz, who were simultaneously considering changes in their careers. “The timing was just right when we found each other,” Dr. Jotkowitz recalled. “We have been planning for almost a year, paying attention to every little detail so that the clinic we have created is unique and reflects something special.”
Dr. Kellner-Kutno is eager to continue building the new practice with two like-minded individuals, while fulfilling the dream of Aliyah alongside her husband and 3 children. “This has made my aliyah a success so far and I am looking forward to the journey,” Dr. Kellner-Kutno.
In November, a practice that has incubated for less than a year has become a reality for the local Raanana community – Raanana Dental Care opened its doors with a grand opening event and a ribbon cutting ceremony with Raanana Mayor, Mr. Ze’ev Bielski, who noted that people are not typically looking forward to going to the dentist, but that Raanana Dental Care represented something special to which people could look forward.
