9. CCTV Usage and Personal Data Processing
In addition to the Personal Data described above, we operate closed-circuit
television (CCTV) cameras at our clinic premises. CCTV footage constitutes
Personal Data and is processed by us as Data Controller in accordance with
the Protection of Privacy Act, 1981 and its regulations.
We use CCTV solely for legitimate security and safety purposes: to protect the
safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors; to protect our premises
and assets; and to deter, document, and investigate security-related incidents.
Cameras are installed only in public or common areas where individuals do not
have a reasonable expectation of privacy, and clear signage is displayed at
the entrance to monitored areas. Cameras are not used for employee performance
monitoring or any other non-security purpose.
As a general rule, CCTV footage is automatically deleted within 30 days of
creation. Footage may be retained for longer only where required by law or a
lawful order of a competent authority, where necessary to investigate a
specific incident, claim, or legal proceeding, or in other documented
exceptional circumstances, and in any case only for as long as reasonably
necessary for that purpose.
Access to CCTV footage is restricted to specifically authorized personnel on
a need-to-know basis. Footage is not disclosed or made available to any
external party without prior written approval, and, as a general rule, is
disclosed to third parties only pursuant to a lawful and binding order or
legal obligation. We may engage third-party service providers to support the
operation, monitoring, or storage of our camera systems, acting as our
authorized data processors under appropriate agreements, in the same manner
described in Section 5 above.
You may request access to CCTV footage in which you appear by contacting us
using the details in Section 11. Such requests are subject to identity
verification, and you should specify, to the extent possible, the relevant
date and time of the recording and the reason for your request. Where
disclosure may affect the privacy of other individuals, we will take reasonable
steps to blur or redact them where feasible. Copies of recordings are not
generally provided unless required by law.
10. Updates to this Policy
We keep this Policy under regular review and may modify and revise it
occasionally. Any Personal Data we collect is subject to the Policy in effect
at the time such Personal Data is collected.
